This is the page for Hints, Tricks, and Ideas!

This is where you get to show off your wonderful and creative ideas!
Do you have an idea or trick using the computer that helps you manage your classroom better? If so, here's your chance to share that idea.

To get things started, I'm going to give you an idea that has saved me a lot of time!!

Tip #1

Like most teachers, I am required to maintain a substitute folder throughout the year. One of the things that must be in the folder is a list of names of my students and a set of name tags.
The first week of school, each student must wear home a tag stating his name, student ID #, teacher's name, and way of getting home.
In the past, this has meant me taking a stack of name tags and writing this information down for 20 students x 5 days, plus additional tags to be used in case I missed a day!
Now, I simply use a label making program and Avery labels to print out a sheet with all the required information neatly printed, including Mrs. B's cute tiny bee logo.
The information is saved, so that as students move in and out of your classroom, you can quickly update your records.
I keep several of the sheets in my sub folder, so that all a sub needs to do is place the stickers on the students to know their names and how they are getting home that afternoon.

Tip #2

I have typed out helpful hints for subs...on it there is how to take attendence, discipline, how many students I have,
their names, and a list of car/bus riders with bus numbers.
I keep it current by making changes as the class changes
and put the updated version in my sub folder.
